Created on May 5, 1991, through the joint initiative of SONATRACH and other units of the petrochemical platform of Skikda, with the aim of pooling resources and developing a high-quality subcontracting network in the specialized field of industrial maintenance of petrochemical installations, SOMIK has continuously grown and expanded its expertise in industrial maintenance trades, particularly: boiler making, scaffolding, machining, sandblasting, painting, hot and cold insulation, and metal framework. Twenty-eight years later, and despite strong competition, the company now possesses strengths and specific advantages that allow it to maintain a significant position in the market. The accumulated know-how and proven expertise of our technicians and managers are the true hallmark of our company, and have enabled us to build a constantly growing client portfolio

With strong ties to its socio-economic environment and a strategic geographic location at the heart of the Skikda oil platform, SOMIK Spa continues to develop close partnerships with various SONATRACH complexes—not only in Skikda but throughout the entire national territory. These connections, forged with key economic players in the hydrocarbon sector, represent one of the company’s main strengths. Thus, from being a locally focused company at its inception, SOMIK became, in 2019, a nationally recognized company with its own capital, its own management bodies, and operating under commercial business principles.

Aware of the challenges ahead, SOMIK Spa clearly demonstrates its commitment to the continuous pursuit of excellence by meeting its clients’ demands. Thus, since 2007, SOMIK has been certified according to ISO standards. These certifications are the result not only of the strong commitment from everyone, but also of a shared voluntary initiative from the company’s management and the various stakeholders. A success that once again confirms the dedication of all our employees to providing high-quality services to our clients, while ensuring the safety of their installations and equipment, as well as the safety of our own staff, in full compliance with environmental regulations.
